Welcome to Brightway Solutions. We are delighted to have you on the team. This pack explains the most important things you need to know during your first few weeks. Please read it carefully and keep it for future reference.
Your first days. On your first morning, report to reception, where you will be given your security pass and shown to your desk. Within your first week you must complete the online health and safety course; you will receive a link by email, and the course takes about an hour. Your line manager will arrange a meeting to talk through your role and set your goals for the first three months.
Working hours and flexibility. Standard hours are 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. We support flexible working, and most staff may work from home up to two days a week once they have completed their probation period. Any home-working arrangement should be agreed in advance with your line manager.
Holidays and absence. Full-time employees receive 25 days of paid annual leave in their first year, in addition to public holidays. Requests for leave must be submitted through the staff portal at least two weeks in advance, and are approved by your line manager. If you are unwell and cannot come to work, please telephone your manager before 9.30 a.m. on the first day of absence. For any absence of more than five days, a doctor’s note is required.
Getting help. If you have a question about your pay, contract, or benefits, contact the Human Resources team, who are based on the second floor. For technical problems — for example, if you cannot log in or your computer is not working — contact the IT helpdesk by phone or through the online ticket system. Please do not attempt to repair equipment yourself.
A few house rules. Treat colleagues and visitors with respect at all times. The building is non-smoking, and the kitchen areas should be left clean and tidy. Finally, remember that your security pass is personal to you; please do not lend it to anyone or allow others to enter the building using it.
